I’ve spent over eleven years working in senior professional recruitment, primarily in IT and tech roles within the legal and finance sectors. Over that time, I’ve worked closely with experienced professionals navigating some of the most competitive parts of the job market, often at a point in their careers where traditional job‑hunting advice simply stops working.
I’ve overhauled and advised on hundreds of senior CVs, helping people clearly articulate their value, reposition their experience and improve their chances of landing roles that genuinely fit their level, rather than being misunderstood, misfiled or quietly overlooked because their value is not obvious quickly enough.
But as time went on, something became harder to ignore. There were so many conversations where I knew I could help far more, if only I had the space. People with strong careers behind them, feeling increasingly invisible, confused by LinkedIn, frustrated by application processes and unsure why they weren’t getting traction despite doing everything “right”.
In January 2026, I took voluntary redundancy and used it as an opportunity to focus fully on the part of the work I care about most. That was the point Hired Not Retired came into being.
Hired Not Retired is built on real recruiter experience and a clear understanding of how senior hiring actually works today. It’s designed specifically for experienced professionals who want a practical, modern job search strategy, not generic advice aimed at early‑career candidates.
Inside the programme, I share the tools and thinking that genuinely make a difference at senior level, from shaping a CV that stands up to recruiter scrutiny, to improving LinkedIn visibility, understanding why applications fail, and using side‑door routes into roles that are never straightforwardly advertised.
Alongside the course content, there are also options to get focused support directly from me, whether that’s through a CV review, LinkedIn review, strategy call or the 30-minute consultation included inside the programme.
If you’re experienced, capable, and quietly wondering why the usual advice isn’t working anymore, you’re very much in the right place.
If we have not connected on LinkedIn yet, do come and find me there. I share practical posts about senior job searching, CVs, LinkedIn, interviews, recruiter behaviour and the occasional reality check from the recruitment trenches.
